Fantastic turnout in the chapel for the tree festival, Paula-Marie’s performances, and a lively (and impressively well-attended!) gathering on the green. Together with the Santa sleigh tour on14 December, a brilliant £245.50 has been raised for the Spirit of Christmas charity.

Special thanks are due, once again, to: Our excellent Santas, all the elves and co-opted helpers who stepped in where needed and those who helped get the sleigh ready and out on the road. Lending the sleigh to Darrington for their lights switch-on on meant all the effort putting it together was even more worthwhile — helping neighbouring communities as well as our own.

A big thank you to Richard & Richard (pub regulars), who kindly donated their ‘copper collection’ totalling £49 and the pub ‘big bottle collection’ during 2025, which raised £100 towards village events

If you enjoy village events and want them to continue, volunteering even a small amount of time makes a real difference. If you’re willing to help, whether with planning, setting up, helping on a bbq, stewarding, or just being an extra pair of hands, please get in touch. Many hands really do make light work.
